Somme Memorial

Please help to make sure that those men of the 12th Manchester Regiment who gave their lives on July 7th 1916 at the Somme, are remembered. The 12th Manchesters were formed in Ashton-under-Lyne and the names of the men who gave their lives are mentioned in the article.

£50 pounds was donated for this worthwhile cause at our Forum Meeting 25 July plus £25 from Ashton Civic Society. Councillor Jackie Lane has also donated £100 from Tameside's Heritage Fund.
