Thursday 26th July 2007 on the Town Hall steps and entrance to the Manchester Regiment Museum.
The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment was formed a year ago from three regiments to serve for Lancashire and Cumbria.
- The King's Own Royal Border Regiment
- The King's Regiment (which included the Manchester Regiment)
- The Queen's Lancashire Regiment
In April this year the Regiment was given the 'Freedom of the Borough' and on their return from Basra, the Second Batallion was presented with a scroll in a special ceremony to mark the occasion.
